Sect Hall and Sect Tree guide — buildings, 14 tree nodes and the Merit shop

How your sect works in Tales of Ascension: the Spirit Stone Mine, Apothecary and Scripture Pavilion, upgrade timers, the Sect Tree with 14 nodes in four branches that raise team stats and lift building caps, and the Merit shop with rotating hero souls.

Sect Hall and Sect Tree guide — buildings, 14 tree nodes and the Merit shop

Your Sect Hall opens at Foundation Early. It is the slow, steady part of Tales of Ascension: buildings that produce Spirit Stones and buff your team while you are away, a Sect Tree that grows over months, and a Merit shop for hero souls. All of it is paid for with Spirit Stones, and every upgrade runs on a timer, so the trick is to keep both queues busy.

At a glance

Buildings

BuildingWhat it does
Spirit Stone MineProduces Spirit Stones every hour. Collect from the Sect Hall.
ApothecaryRaises your Herb Garden harvest yield with each level.
Scripture PavilionRaises ATK and DEF of all your disciples with each level.

Which first? The Scripture Pavilion is the only building that makes your team stronger directly. The mine pays for everything else. A common order is mine early, then the Scripture Pavilion every time it is free.

The Sect Tree

Open the Sect Tree tab. Its 14 nodes sit in four branches that do not block each other: three grow from the buildings, and the fourth, the outer arts branch, opens at Spirit Transformation.

BranchNodes and what they add
Spirit Stone MineMountain Opening (mine output), Iron Fist (team ATK), Seclusion (+1 hour to the Seclusion cap per level)
ApothecaryHerb Fields (Herb Garden yield), Vajra (team DEF), Trade Route (cheaper Merit shop), Guild Hall (extra daily Black Market Deals)
Scripture PavilionBody Tempering (team HP), Footwork (team Speed), Great Void (team ATK and HP)
Outer arts (Spirit Transformation)Stone Breaker, Earth Splitter, Peak Sever, Star Shatter: team ATK, more at each node

The tree panel shows each node's current and next level. The whole tree takes months to finish, and something new completes every day or two along the way.

Building caps

Three nodes also raise building caps when they reach level 10:

Merit shop

The Sect Hall's Merit shop spends Merit, which you earn from guild quests, the guild campfire, Expedition, Arena seasons, world bosses, the Battle Pass and events (see the guild guide).

The Trade Route node in the Sect Tree makes everything in the Merit shop cheaper.

Tips

  1. Never leave a queue idle. Buildings and the tree run separately, so both should always have something upgrading.
  2. Start long upgrades before you log off. A 2-day timer finishes just as well while you sleep.
  3. Take Seclusion early if you play once a day. Extra hours of offline cultivation pay back fast.
  4. Check the Merit shop daily for souls of the disciples you field.

FAQ

Is the Sect Hall worth it if I mostly push campaign?

Yes. The Scripture Pavilion and the tree's team stats apply in every mode: campaign, Arena, Secret Realm and bosses.

Can I speed up upgrades?

No. Timers are the pace of the system, and there is nothing to buy that skips them.
