Black Market and Soul Pavilion guide — what to buy with Demon Pills, Gold and Martial Order Tokens

How the Black Market works in Tales of Ascension: the Daily Spirit Stone shop and free gift, rotating 10%-off Deals, the Demon Pill, Gold and Treasures tabs, weekly and daily limits — plus the Soul Pavilion, where Souls become the exact disciple you want.

Black Market and Soul Pavilion guide — what to buy with Demon Pills, Gold and Martial Order Tokens

The Black Market is where the currencies you earn in play turn into the things you are short of: breakthrough shards, summon tickets, Gear Bags, pills for your Flying Sword and mounts, and the best skins and gear in the game. The Soul Pavilion next door turns Souls into the exact disciple you want instead of leaving it to a summon. Neither sells anything that needs real money.

At a glance

Daily tab

Open the Black Market every day, even before you have anything to spend:

This tab is the main daily sink for Spirit Stones. If you end the day with spare Spirit Stones, this is where they should go.

Deals

Every day at midnight game time, 5 to 10 items from the catalog show up as Today's Deals at 10% off. A Deal buy counts against a separate daily deal limit, not the item's normal limit, so a Deal is extra stock, not just a discount. One summon-ticket offer can only be bought when it rolls as a Deal. Check the tab before you buy the same item at full price.

Demon Pill tab

Demon Pills come mainly from the Secret Realm, plus the Arena and events. This tab holds most of the useful stock, with weekly limits that reset on Monday:

Priority tip: spend first on whatever blocks your next breakthrough, then on summon tickets, then on the system you are levelling this week. Demon Pills left over at the weekly reset are not lost, but the week's limits are.

Gold tab

The Gold tab sells Spirit Stones, Immortal Herb, Restoring Pills (they refill stamina; there is no raw stamina for sale), one summon ticket a day and seeds for your Herb Garden. Many Demon Pill items also have a Gold version at a higher price, so Gold can top you up when you run out of Demon Pills.

Gold is scarce for most players, so the Gold tab is a second choice, not a first.

Treasures

The Treasures tab is paid for with Martial Order Tokens, a currency you earn only by playing: Arena challenges every day, Arena and Endless Tower rankings and events. See the Arena guide.

Tokens build up slowly, so pick one goal and save for it.

Reforge Family

Dragon and Imperial gear comes in different set families. The Reforge Family tab spends Set Souls to switch a piece to another family, so a strong piece in the wrong set is not wasted.

Buy All

Tap the bag icon on items in the Daily, Deals, Demon Pill and Gold tabs to mark them, then buy everything marked in one go. Handy for the same weekly shopping list.

Soul Pavilion

Souls come in four grades: S, A, B and C. One Soul becomes one soul of any disciple of the same grade, picked by you:

You get Souls from events, shop rewards and the Black Market's Soul Shards. You can also convert Gold or Demon Pills into Souls at the Soul Pavilion, up to a weekly limit per grade. The Black Market's Soul Shards share that same weekly limit, except when they roll as a Deal.

The Soul Pavilion is the way to finish a specific disciple, whether it is the last star on your main carry or a Grade S hero the summons keep missing.

FAQ

When does the Black Market reset?

Daily limits and Deals reset at midnight game time. Weekly limits reset every Monday at midnight.

Can I buy everything with real money?

No. The Black Market only takes Demon Pills, Gold, Spirit Stones and Martial Order Tokens, all earned by playing.

Is the Soul Pavilion worth it over summoning?

They do different jobs. Summons are for breadth and luck. The Soul Pavilion is for finishing one disciple you have already chosen.
